Over the past few days, we've heard several stories of the new coronavirus impacting the production of games and consoles, including the newly-announced Animal Crossing Switch bundle. Pre-orders for the upcoming console have been delayed in Japan following the outbreak, causing Nintendo to apologise to fans.

Now, clearing up any confusion this may have caused, Nintendo has released a statement regarding future production across Europe and North America. It says that it "does not anticipate a significant impact on our broader global supply chain", noting that pre-orders in those regions are safe at present.

Here's the full statement shared by a Nintendo of America spokesperson to Kotaku:

We can confirm that the manufacturing of some Nintendo products for the Japanese market has been delayed due to the impact of 2019-nCoV coronavirus outbreak. Nintendo does not anticipate a significant impact on our broader global supply chain for systems and accessories at this time, and product sales in North America and Europe, including preorders, are not affected. We would like to express our concern and support for all those affected by the coronavirus during this challenging time.
